Family dentistry at our Hamilton Mountain clinic

Family life is busy enough without juggling three different dental offices for the kids, the parents and the grandparents. At Limegreen Dental we keep it simple. One clinic at 310 Limeridge Road West, just off Upper James, looks after your whole household, from a toddler's very first visit to the steady, gentle care that keeps adults and seniors comfortable for decades. You park for free, walk in on the ground floor, and see familiar faces every time.

We have cared for Hamilton families since expanding to the Mountain in 2017, and our approach has stayed the same: explain things in plain language, never rush, and never push treatment you do not need. Dr. Rania Salih and Dr. Firas Elias and the rest of the team treat your family the way they would want their own treated.

Gentle care for every age

Mouths change at every stage of life, and so does the care they need. A four-year-old, a fifteen-year-old and a seventy-year-old have very different visits, and we plan for that.

Toddlers and young children

First visits are short, friendly and unhurried. We count teeth, check that everything is growing the way it should, and let your child get comfortable in the chair. There are no surprises, and there is plenty of praise. The goal is for your child to leave thinking the dentist is an easy, even fun, place to be.

Kids and pre-teens

As permanent teeth come in, we focus on prevention: cleanings, fluoride where helpful, and an honest look at brushing habits. We also keep an eye on how the bite is developing so any orthodontic concern is spotted early rather than years too late.

Teens

The teenage years bring braces questions, wisdom teeth, sports mouthguards and the first cavities from busy, snack-heavy schedules. We talk to teens directly, respect that they want to be part of the decision, and keep visits judgement-free.

Adults

For adults, family dentistry means staying ahead of problems: regular exams, cleanings, and early treatment of small cavities or gum changes before they turn into bigger, more involved work. If you have put off the dentist for a while, that is alright. We pick up where you are without lectures.

Seniors

Older patients often deal with dry mouth, worn or cracked teeth, and the upkeep of crowns, bridges or dentures. We keep your care comfortable and practical, and we coordinate around any health conditions or medications you mention.

Your child's first visits and prevention

We suggest a first dental visit by your child's first birthday, or within six months of the first tooth appearing. Early, positive visits do two things: they let us catch issues while they are tiny, and they help your child build a calm, trusting relationship with the dentist that lasts into adulthood.

Prevention is the heart of children's dentistry, and most of it is simple. Brushing twice a day with a small smear of fluoride toothpaste, limiting sugary drinks, and coming in for regular cleanings prevents the large majority of childhood cavities. We show parents practical brushing tips and answer the real questions, like what to do about thumb sucking or a knocked-out baby tooth.

What a family check-up includes

A typical visit covers a thorough exam, a professional cleaning and check-up with scaling and polishing, digital x-rays when they are due, and an oral cancer screening for adults. We finish by talking through anything we found and what, if anything, it means, so you leave knowing exactly where your family stands.

What a family visit includes

Here is roughly how a routine family appointment runs at Limegreen Dental.

Catch-up and history

We review any changes in health, medications or concerns since your last visit. For kids, parents stay involved the whole time.

Exam and x-rays

We check each tooth, the gums and the bite, and take low-radiation digital x-rays only when they are due, so we can see what the eye cannot.

Cleaning and polish

Our hygienists remove plaque and tartar, polish the teeth and review brushing and flossing in a way that actually fits your routine.

Plan and next steps

We explain what we found in plain language, answer questions, and book any follow-up only if it is genuinely needed.

A gentle, anxiety-friendly approach

Plenty of people, kids and adults alike, feel uneasy at the dentist. We take that seriously. We move at a pace that feels comfortable, tell you what is coming before it happens, and stop the moment you need a break. For children, we use simple words, lots of encouragement and no rushing. Dr. Rania is known among our patients for being especially gentle, caring and thorough, and that tone runs through the whole team.

If anxiety has kept someone in your family away from dental care, a relaxed cleaning and exam is a good, pressure-free place to start. Many nervous patients tell us their first visit was far easier than they expected.

Booking for the whole family

Because we treat every age in one place, we can often line up back-to-back appointments so you make a single trip up the Mountain instead of several. Evening and Saturday hours mean you do not always have to pull the kids out of school or take a full day off work. If you are new to the clinic, our new patient page tells you what to bring and what to expect, and we are glad to help you sort out coverage, including the Canadian Dental Care Plan, before you arrive.

Thinking ahead about straighter teeth for a child or teen? We can flag the right time to look at orthodontic treatment during a regular check-up. When you are ready, book your family's appointments online or call (905) 383-7979 and we will find times that work for everyone.

Family dentistry questions

Have another question? Call (905) 383-7979 or see our full FAQ.

At what age should my child first see the dentist?

We suggest a first visit by your child's first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming in. Early visits are short and friendly, mostly a gentle look and a chance for your child to get used to the chair.

Can my whole family book on the same day?

Yes. Because we treat every age in one place, we often arrange back-to-back appointments so parents and children are seen together. Ask our front desk and we will group your family's visits where we can.

How often should we have a check-up?

For most people a check-up and cleaning every six months works well. Children, teens in braces and patients with gum concerns may need to come in more often. We set the right schedule at your exam.

Do you see nervous children and anxious adults?

Yes. Gentle, judgement-free care is central to how we work. We explain each step, go at a comfortable pace, and use patience and praise to help nervous kids and adults relax.

Do you accept the CDCP and insurance for family visits?

Yes. We accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan and offer direct billing to most insurers. We check and explain each person's coverage before treatment.
